I live in Melksham and receive my TV pictures from Mendip. I have a loft mounted aerial. I can get all channels on my Samsung TV but i can only get BBC Progs (CH61) via my Panasonic HDD Recorder. I find this strange as the main aerial feed goes via the Panasonic Recorder!! I have tried clearing the channel list on the Recorder and have retuned either by Strongest Signal or Area Signal and Manually but to no avail. Anyone any ideas please?

Steve: You have not left a postcode so it is hard to be sure, but you may have too strong a signal for your receiver, but this less unlikely with a loft aerial.
Have you tried swapping your aerial cables around?

Briantist: Sorry my postcode is SN12 6FY. When you say 'swap aerial cables around' could you explain please?? PS Tonight i've tried tuning again but i cannot get anything at all !! Not even the BBC channels i got the other night !!

My ADB I-Can set top box will not receive channel 67 Mendip transmitter have tried all suggestions even having the box returned to supplier for adjustment all to no avail the misssing channels can be found on the 800 range wondered if any other users of this box have same problem and have found any way of correcting this problem.TVs in house all receive all freeview channels perfectly.May be will have to wait until Sept when Mendip changes it channel line up or Rowridge next year.

Brian, I have taken your advice i.e. plugged main aerial feed into the TV instead of the Panasonic HDD and the TV reception worked as normal i.e. i could receive all available Freeview channels. I then ran the main aerial feed back into the Panasonic HDD again, and retuned and hey presto i got 'most' of the channels back all but COM6/ARQB/CH67, which is typical as recording Film4 films is what i do most of!! Is there any reason why i can't still get COM6/ARQB/CH67? When i try a manual retune of that channel the Panasonic HDD shows that this channel has a very poor signal strength compared to the others. Your advice is much appreciated.

Could you have a close look at the aerial input socket on your Panasonic HDD? Remove the aerial lead, and see whether the coax socket's centre connector (female) seems to be at all loose. I've just been looking at a Humax PVR behaving similarly - the slightest waggle of the aerial input lead made the picture freeze momentarily - that's with a brand new lead that I'd just made up.
On the Humax, it felt very wobbly - didn't get a chance to investigate further as it's only a month old, so is going back to the shop.
