Will there be any test transmissions of digital signal after digital equipment has been installed at the Penicuik mast?

Penicuik

I've just moved in to Penicuik I'm guessing since there is a relay transmitter getting a full freeview signal from another transmitter is out of the question.

I think my house needs a 100ft lighting rod.

neil: You should be able to get a service from the Darvel transmitter, but you might find it cheaper to install a Freesat HD system.

Neil, It will depend on where in the town you are living. Some people in higher parts of the town can get signal from Blackhill/Kirk O' Shotts whilst others can pick up Grampian on analogue. It's pretty much a lottery as to what you get and what you don't. I'm at the bottom end of Cornbank and can only get the local relay station.

Thank you for the replies.

Mmm, Darvel. I never considered that, doesn't come up on the digital UK page, but looks like it might be possible.

I'm in the town centre, behind Lidl, almost the lowest point in the town, I think, not that I've explored the whole town.

Freeview need to launch an IPTV service with better quality streams than tvcatchup
