Update... Camelford area.

Channel 52 on Redruth is currently back. I have tried manual scan on this every few days and on Saturday there was a signal with poor to medium quality. It was enough for the EPG to re-instate the channels.

I have a 'no signal' for all channels on Freeview which appeared about 7 am ish, ie TV was on first thing. Has the transmitter gone down? I am in the Holywell/Cubert area.

We get our TV from the Redruth transmitter and last night we lost all but a few of the terrestrial channels, including all of the HD channels. I see that there was engineering work programmed for last week but is it continuing this week and any idea if we will we get our signal back before the start of the Winter Olympics?

Many thanks

John

Digital TV reception in my area of Marazion is dreadful at the best of times, but over the last few days the TV is almost unusable. I have not been able to get any BBC channels at all and ITV is poor reception. No digital radio either. My antenna is aimed at the Redruth transmitter. Two neighbours whose aerials point at the Gulval relay cannot get any TV at all. What is going on?

Malcolm Brown: The note near the top of this page from Digital UK states that Redruth TV is "Liable to interruption". Gulval is a relay of Redruth and its feeds are the signals from its parent.

Dave Lindsay: Thank you for this information. I did see the banner at the top of the page relating to the Redruth transmitter engineering work. I posed my question anyway as I could not see any date and time that this top banner was last updated. As a helpful suggestion, could a date and time be included in a main information heading please? This would make terms like 'over the next week' more meaningful. Thanks.

Malcolm Brown: Precise information as to when any interruption to the service is liable to occur is something which cannot really be forecast in advance, as any that do take place is entirely dependant on the nature of the engineering work being carried out and whether or not the engineer(s) involved at a particular stage deem it necessary for technical reasons, or indeed in the interests of safety, to either cut the power of the transmitter or even kill it altogether whilst some task is being carried out.
