We are getting all the available channels from the Rosemarkie transmitter but we do get some drop out.Do you thing this is just due to low signal strength .We cant get any form of satellite channel due to a large hill in the way.Is there any way of boosting the signal ?

Richard: You are not officially in a coverage area.
I would have thought the best thing you can do to improve things is to raise your aerial up higher, as high as you possibly can.

I have no freeview channels, have tried a full rescan and manual scan to no avail. I have no carrier, displays no database. My aerial is in my loft but I have had freeview channels before so why is this happening now?
Any advice would be helpful. My tv is new but i had the same problem with my older one this week as well.

Susie,
Not sure why your post is in the Rosemarkie transmitter section - South Ockendon would typically use the Crystal Palace transmitter.
If you've lost everything signal-wise with your loft aerial, there are a few things to check:
a) Aerial isn't pointing through neighbour's loft and they've just had foil-lined insulation installed (which would screen your signal).
b) The cable from the aerial is actually connected to something (you may have some form of distribution or splitter in the loft to feed other rooms). If its connected to an amplifier, is the amplifier switched on (or getting its power from somewhere)?
c) There's a possibility of a short-circuit at a coax plug (particularly the ones that use a small screw to hold the centre core of the cable).

I have a philips freeview set top box and for the last week have either had no chanels at all or just the BBC chanels and selling chanels. Now I have just ITV3 and the BBC is pixalated. I have retuned several times and nothing is changed. I am served by the Rosemarkie transmitter but can't find anything on line to indicate a problem. Can anyone advise me please.

I live in Muir of ord & get freeview signal from the Auchmore Wood relay, do you know if it will ever transmit all the available channels that Rosemarkie broadcasts? At the moment it's only about 15 tv while rosemarkie is broadcasting something like 50+

Brian: No, the commercial multiplex operators declined to broadcast from any of the smaller transmitters as they regard it as too expensive. If you want more channels, and you can use a "Full Service" transmitter, try Freesat - see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

problem is the neighbours got tall pine trees blocking sky/freesat & we don't have a line of sight to Rosemarkie as we're in a dip.
