Ventnor
We can no longer receive a tv signal on the south facing side of our house with an indoor aerial. It works only on the north side. This happened two nights ago and persists. Have had no problems before. Have tried resetting tv several times to no avail. Has the signal been turned down in our area? PO38 1EH. Help please?

Victoria Thorpe: The Ventnor transmitter is to your north and the signal is therefore coming from that direction!
If you have found that you no longer have as good a signal on the south side then this may suggest that the reflection you were relying on is either being blocked or is no longer there.
Resetting the TV will do absolutely nothing, barring wasting time, if it is a lack of signal!

BBC radio 4 VHF went off-air ~7:03 this morning - moments before the lights flickered.
Suggests lightning strike?

Philip Hawkins: That sounds like a reasonable diagnosis.
Radio & Television Service confirms that BBC R1FM, R2FM, R3FM and R4FM are off-air.

CHRIS: Most usual cause for loss of all services is failure of the public electricity supply. This is rectified as soon as the engineers are able to carry out repair work.
