I have been experiencing reception problems with my tv today. I either get a message on some stations "no signal" or Low Signal Strength" on others. Can you please advise when the engineering works at Whitehawk Hill will be sorted out as it is inconvenient to not be able to watch certain channels, particularly BBC1 and the BBC news channel, which have no signal at all.

bill young, Fiona & Mary: Engineering work usually lasts for a few hours at a time and the transmitter will generally be back on by the evening (the engineers aren't going to be doing planned work on it in the dark). Do not attempt to retune, just wait and your channels will return when the transmitter is switched back on.

Thank you for the information Stevens Onln1. I've left the tv on and have switched channels and many channels are still affected with weak signals and the picture and sound breaking up or no signal at all, so I hope that the transmitter will be working before dusk. It must be dreadful for housebound people who can't use the internet as an alternative as tv is a lifeline for some people.
Fingers crossed for a return to normal!

If the work isn't being done overnight why have I had very few channels for nearly 24 hours solid? No BBC and many others were missing all night and now into the following day. From memory I have around 6-8 working channels as of 09:17 on 29th
Nothing was wrong until Thurs 28th

thanks

Neil: Your TV may have attempted an automatic retune whilst the transmitter was off, causing it to loose channels. Check that you don't have any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, then check with a neighbour that their Freeview is working. Then try a manual tune on C60 from the TV's menu, which should restore your BBC channels. If that works, a full retune should restore all of your channels, otherwise further investigation is needed.
