Wouldn't be surprised if T.V. Manufacturers are getting Government subsidies to make bigger screens to
increase the amount of U.V. and white light exposure to the people watching them? Probably to increase
the rates of cancer, cataracts etc?
I can't seem to watch T.V. for very long before I get exposed to adverts with prolonged, blindingly white
Backgrounds then a minute or so later another companies advert does it all over again.
I am sick of having to put my hand up to block it out. Terrible.

Robert:

TV manufacturers are *not* getting any subsidies from any government world wide.

If you are having difficulties viewing your TV then check that the brightness is not set too high. Likewise, ensure the contrast setting is more suited to your needs.

The UV radiation from any TV screen is minimal and the level of white light is dependent on your TV's settings as above.

In response to MikeP.
I don't suppose the public will know half of what is going on in the world anytime soon (and that includes yourself). The U.S. Authorities can hack Samsung T.V. sets and have been doing so for a while (remember that story?) G8 and G20 etc continue to meet up periodically, what do they talk about? EVERYTHING!
We are living in a world were a person can't even get ACCURATE information about fluoride levels in drinking water if any? And don't forget about how we are all allowed to freely adopt mobile phones with no need for a licensing mechanism like we have for a T.V. set. Some mobile phones are so cheap the industry has got to have received subsidies at some point, Why not T.V. manufacturers? After all Samsung has marketing dominance in televisions, allegations of corruption surround them and The said U.S. hacking ability could be in cahoots with Samsung in exchange for market dominance etc. This kind of stuff ceased to be conspiracy theory ages ago. Now its mainstream business practices near enough.

Robert: If you want people to take your conspiracy theory seriously, perhaps you could explain how it would benefit any government to incentivise TV manufacturers to increase rates of cancer and cataracts etc, given that this would hugely increase the burden on a healthcare system which is already barely able to cope at times?

Cancer treatment is one of the BIGGEST Businesses around. Cancer research has had untold Billions pumped in to it and NOT ONE type of cancer has been cured. Cancer is a efficient way to control worldwide populations and the problems they bring and big companies and Government folk who sit on boards or get political influence from big business, Making big money while blaming peoples lifestyles for cancer compared to having wars to manage populations which are unpopular and Governments get the blame for starting them. ALSO got to remember that there is NO such thing as free healthcare. Taxpayers money is and continues to be haemorrhaged in to the pockets of C.E.O.'s and shareholders by doing this.
Like I said this stuff is generally accepted and ceased to be conspiracy theory ages ago.

You are way off subject. Some of us have considerable technical knowledge and some even have knowledge of medical issues due to having family members qualified in that area.

In response to MikeP, Your considerable technical knowledge seems to extend to telling people to adjust
the brightness and contrast levels on a T.V. or telling people to turn the power off and on again.
Most people will be affected by cancer at some point in their or their families lifes so you don't have any prestigious experience there. So feel free to continue to be an armchair specialist and reality denier.
