Robert:

I DID disprove your claims when I stated that LED and L|CD screens do not emit X-Rays or Gamma-rays. They are the forms of ionising emissions that are known potential causes of cancer.

So accept that you are completely wrong and cease your ranting.

Making a comment and then expanding on it in response to StevensOnln1? Is not going "off-topic".
Gamma and X - rays are believed to be the most destructive but other radiation wavelengths COULD over
time have a destructive effect on living cells given enough exposure. No one knows and that includes YOU!
It has already been recognised that too much use of a mobile phone can affect the users ability to get to
sleep, how much worse would a 50 inch T.V. screens effects be?
Why are you studying advanced physics when you can't get your head around basic physics?
People like you make me sick. Entrenched in your position and overly confident, you can't contemplate anything outside of your own tea break.
So NO! you haven't disproved my claims.

Robert: Considering that we've had TV's in the house since the late 30's, and they were mostly cathode ray tube ones, wouldn't we have noticed a problem by now?

Yes, cancer rates have went through the roof.
It used to be 1 in 3 people would get cancer, now it is officially 1 in 2 people.
You walked straight in to that one mate.

Robert: But since people now live longer, they are more likely to develop cancer at some point, simply because they have more time to.

Of course, if screens are so deadly, why are you using one right now to look at the net? Surely you should be lowering your risk as much as possible?

People are getting cancer in their 30's and 40's.
I don't mean to scare people in to not switching their T.Vs on.
Mobile phones, wi-fi etc are more of a danger to health than a T.V. sitting in the corner, but it does add to the
overall exposure levels especially if it is a 50 inch plus behemoth.
When buying a T.V, don't fall for the hype. Buy the MINIMUM size you feel you can live with. People should
put their health first. Just because the manufacturers want to flog 50 and 60 inch models it doesn't mean the people have buy them just because they think they are getting a good deal.
Since there is no escape, I will probably get cancer and die at some point in my life like millions of others, but
there is no point in helping it along.

Robert: But you are exposing yourself to danger right now, just by typing onto a screen. For your health, shouldn't you stop?
