It's historical, the G-Man Multiplex, which was due to be closed, was for the now defunct Channel M service. It was taken over by Canis Media as a sort of test bed for channel operators to try out their channels cheaply on, they changed it from QPSK to 16QUAM to increase the number of services severely affecting its coverage (the LM Multiplex is QPSK). Few people watch either of them due to very poor programme content.

Karen, Heart TV is on a very low power transmitter with a directional aerial, beamed from winter hill in the direction of Stockport. Most people can't get it at all. Tiny differences in the sensitivity of TVs will give the effects you are getting. Assuming that you have no loose cables etc, the only solution is a better aerial. As it is not known how long this service will last and assuming reception on all the other channels is OK, you may not want to take that option.

Neither of my two Sony TVs are now receiving this multiplex nor is my Humax T-2, all the channels have gone from their EPGs. The T-2 signal detection still shows a poor but adequate signal level for ch 57. An older Humax 9200, daisy chained between the T-2 and the TV, still receives them and shows the EPG. I don't think these channels have a significant number of viewers, you could try raising the topic on Digital Spy.

The local GMAN/MTN multiplex is now back to normal. "This is Manchester" is also radiating test transmissions on "channel"8.

If that is an OS grid reference (SD 535244) then I assume you live just south of Preston. The GMAN multiplex is transmitted on a narrow beam in the direction of Stockport, it is not available in your area.

UK Free TV says the height of the transmitter aerial is 572 m but mb 21 give the impress it could be up to 100 m lower. You need to be able to see the transmitter buildings to receive a signal as the GMAN aerial is only just above them.
I assume you live close to BL16PE in which case the Digital UK site does say your reception should be OK but the terrain map, which I only did roughly, shows reception as marginal.

I can confirm that ch 57 returned to my Sony TV and is still there. It disappeared from my Humax T-2 at the time and never returned. I haven't tried retuning the Humax to see if it re-appears as there is nothing on that multiplex of interest to me. The Humax signal detection shows a usable level and quality although GMAN is weak in Altrincham where I live.
