Hi. For me to help you, just think of your problem and answer each question in turn. First, are you seeing the words "No Signal" or "Technical fault" on the TV screen?

I have no idea why the posts take so long to appear. It's probably the http "cache control" which is set to 60 seconds. I will look into it...

Melksham

Hi, I have trouble in Melksham with hd reception on all HD channels. Loss of signal, cutting in and out etc. This is strange as only happens at different times of day. Eg this can be unwatchable in the morning, yet fine in the afternoon & evening, just random. It seems all these channels are on c35 from the Mendip transmitter and appears almost as if the transmissions are weaker at some points in the day ? any ideas, thanks Mark.

Mark Carter: Assuming you're the same Mark Carter who posted yesterday, perhaps you missed my reply (copied below). Mendip had a warning for engineering works last week, which could still be ongoing. If you provide a full postcode we can see what your predicted signal strength should be and may be able to offer further advice.

Transmitters don't vary their power output unless there is either a fault or temporarily whilst engineering work is taking place. If the problem is happening at the same times each day then a likely cause is electrical interference from something nearby, probably either something containing an electric motor or poorly screened LED lighting is also a common cause. It's also worth checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and YouView box, which could be making the problem worse.

DAB radio stations in the Llanelli area have gone terrible in the last week. Almost as if you boys have tuned the transmitter power down to save some cash. Sort it out!!!!

Gavin: This is an independent technical help website, nobody here has any connection with any broadcaster or transmitter company and therefore cannot sort out any transmitter problem. The transmitter will not have been turned down to save cash, what is far more likely is that you are suffering with the effects of interference from either a distant transmitter on the same frequency or local interference from from some piece of electrical equipment or cheap LED lights etc. Or it could be that your radio is faulty or the aerial has been damaged, it's impossible to tell from the little information you've given.
