Hi, Thursday between 3pm and 8 pm HD signal kept going off = blank screen with NO SIGNAL showing for a few seconds, then came back, this morning had the TV on for 2 hours with no problem, only had the TV for 4 days so was going to ring and get another set, not sure now whether bad TV or was it signal problem from Rowridge transmitter...cheers

Jamie. Thanks for the response, further info today, all hd channels started playing up this afternoon, on the menu it is the quality that drops from 10 to 0 then back up to 10. I coupled my old sony hd tv to the same aerial an ran them in tandam, whenever the pana lost its hd signal the sony was steady as a rock, does that mean it is more likely the new panaisonic tv?

or could it be the below as it mentions CH21, if so why would it effect the pana and not the sony?

4G at 800MHz (at800) Freeview reception issues
Tests now show that SOME households AND are in poor signal areas AND that are very close to a 4G phone mast MAY have their Freeview service disturbed: C22: ArqA, C21: BBCB

Thanks Mike, bit of a noob when it comes to tv stuff, as i said signal strength is at max the same as the signal quality, however it is the signal quality that shuts down from max to zero and not the signal strength, not sure if that would be caused by the signal strength being to strong....the article you refer me to says to get the highest quality on the signal you can.
So it could be 1) signal strength, 2) 4g problem or 3) faulty tv, which did work fine for 4 days.....thanks for the assistance mike and jamie

update:- been into loft and rotated aeril to weaken signal now about 75% quality 100%, unfortunately signal quality still drops to zero giving no signal on screen.

Guess that means I am down to 4g probs or duff tv.????

Hi John..... the Sony is a KDL-40HX803 and the Panasonic is a TX-P50X60B

I spoke to the digital people who told me that Rowridge was under going work this week, but that they generally finish at 6pm, The fault continues up to at least 11pm at night. at the moment i cannot make the problem appear in the morning. which could be linked to the work or the TV takes that long to show up.....

Cheers Jamie, trouble is how long it takes to happen, this morning switched on at 06:45 , no problem until 12:47 then it started, so 6 hours with no problem at all, hopefully JL will have more stock as they have agreed to swap it.......

Brian

Waterlooville

Thanks for the feedback Guys, We are situated at PO7 6BE, waterlooville area. We have never had an issue with the Sony tv on HD channels since HD started in the meridian area. However i'm beginning to think that it was related to the transmitter work as since 15:30 yesterday not had a problem.im guessing the work has finished or they have gone for the weekend. If it was the transmitter work puzzled as to why the Panasonic did not like it but the Sony was fine, albeit that john said Panasonic tuner's are quite sensitive. As far as checking with neighbours nobody we know near us has a HD TV. Will monitor it over the weekend and see what happens. digital helpline told me the work in progress on transmitters updates on a Monday, hopefully rowridge will be work free enabling me to make a better judgement as to whether it was likely to have been the transmitter work causing the problem.....

@Jamie, thanks for the offer will keep it in mind.

@John, yes can confirm aerial is vertical, from memory I changed to vertical when HD switched on. It is Looking more and more likely that it was the transmitter work, as I said previously no problem after 15:30 Friday and had it on HD today since 07:00 and no signal probs at all......if all is well till Monday may tell J.L. to cancel replacing it.
