Switchover starts in the Oxford area | Switchovers

New equipment, retune (many times) No ITV, ITV2, C5 yet ITV3, 4. Everything OK 13th, nothing 14th. It is not due to over amplification: I have checked. It is just the very low power
I know the power goes up on 28th but Rugby World Cup is on ITV and I will miss 2 England games due to switchover

Why does Digital UK state that final switchover for Oxford is 18th April 2012 and that group 2 (ITV 1 etc) will move from C68 to C60. Is this the correct channel to try a manual retune as I have seen ITV associated with different channel numbers

I have tried a manual retune on C68 but just get a response from new TV and DVDR of no signal.
This happens with / without amplifier
Other channels have multiplied in number but now but no C68: it was working prior to 14th. Has strength gone down?

In the 2 years+ leading to switch over we as good as lost MUX2 3 miles from Beckley. I followed advice and bought a new TV, aerial, amplifier (did check signal strength in case attenuator needed) etc all to no avail. 28th September I conscientiously retuned both TV and DVD recorder. Now there is almost perfect reception: even a picture on ITV with just a fly lead out the back of the set without connecting to an aerial. Conclusion: signal had been deliberately underpowered so I wasted a lot of time and money following what appears to have been a misinformation programme to keep every one hanging on and aerial men in business. Why no one could tel the truth: I could have saved money and cancelled my licence for 2 years.

Chris
I understand fully your first paragraph which appears to have been written from knowledge not hindsight. Why was the Mendip / Beckley clash never highlighted over the need for new equipment: prior to the temporary mast scenario, I was getting a decent digital picture on an analogue TV via a digital DVD recorder, but when MUX2 disappeared the only advice in these forums (yes I know it is community opinion only) was to get rid of the analogue TV and VCR though to be causing single frequency interference. Why oh why could someone just not say ITV will be bad for 2 years?
