Is Waltham now radiating at the max power level on all MUXs or will it be increased once the DSO has completed nationwide? We get 100% signal level and quality on all but HD channels with an indoor loft aerial, HD is at 77% and wondering whether to put outdoor aerial up or wait for a power increase. Rothley Leics.

Briantist: OK thank you, the reason I was asking is because some tuner cards can get all the tuning information from the NIT, so initially its only necessary to scan one frequency (containing the NIT), then the NIT will pass on the other frequencies that are used by that transmitter and need to be scanned.

In other countries its common for the NIT to be on one frequency only. Are you saying in the UK the NIT is on all frequencies?

Briantist: Thank you, that clarifies it. Much appreciated.

I'm getting 100% signal on everything except com7 and com8, which both give no signal. LE12 area.

I was expecting com7 to go on air on 4th March, with com8 later in the month.

KMJ, do you have a link to show the power will be 8.7kW when it goes live, and is there a date published yet do you know?

I thought 1.4kW seemed very low so good to hear it will be higher.

KMJ, thank you. Very useful info over there on Digital UK trade view too . I take it the ERP figures on here are from the Ofcom database and not correct.

PS All that data to the right of my last message is meaningless. I put someone else postcode in to help with their reception, and its tagged it to me!

Digitaluk gives a date of 25th March for retune, so likely engineering works preparing for at least com7 to be on air then.
