I used to work for a TV company as a personnel manager, so I'm not terribly technical, but I notice many people on here seem to think the active hardware on their roof is an 'ariel'. It is an aerial and 'ariel' is the name of a font used in printing!
Please would people be more careful to use correct UK spelling, etc. The technical people responding here seem very capable and rather polite (no bad thing), but please help them to help you.

Dave Lindsay:
Point taken, my mistake. But the point I was making still stands. Is it because people have not been taught the correct spelling or that they don't care? They should as a simple difference in spelling, as you point out, came change the meaning considerably. I don't use that washing powder by the way.

You should be able to make that check yourself as your TV set should have that feature. But without a model number no one contributing here can give exact directions of how to do that.
Note that this website is not connected with the transmitter operators.
