Hi There,

I hope someone may be able to help me. I have trawled through all the various other posts on this fine website but I can't find a solution. I have:

Samsung LCD TV with built in Freeview tuner
Panasonic DMR-BWT700 Blu-Ray with built in Freeview twin tuner
Aerial on the roof
Heathfield (West Sussex) transmitter - not yet switched over

Up until January of this year, I had the aerial coming straight in from the wall socket into my Samsung TV and was able to pick up all Freeview channels. I then purchased the Panasonic so I would be able to record Freeview channels. I installed by connecting the RF cable from the wall socket into the Panasonic and then out the Panasonic into the TV. I scanned for channels and was successful in picking them all up. Occassionally I would lose a couple for a short period of time but they would always come back.

About 6 weeks ago (from doing nothing different) I lost most of the channels. I retuned and was only able to pick up the multiplex 2 channels (ITV, C4, C5 etc). I tried reverting to factory setting before retuning but this had no effect. I have tried retuing every few days but am not able to pick up any more channels.

The crazy thing is, I still have the cables going from the wall to the TV via the Panasonic and am able to pick up all the channels still on the TV, however if I switch the Panasonic on, it then affects the TV reception, causes it to freeze.

Is this a known problem of the Panasonic or could this be connected with the upcoming switchover? I had put it down to Inversion when it first happened but that high pressure of early March has well and truly gone now!

Hopefully, that has covered everything but if you need more info, please let me know. Any help would be most appreciated by this frustrated viewer!

Many Thanks,
Mark

OK, so within an hour of posting my problem on here, I think I have found a solution via someone's comments on a review of the product on Amazon! It seems that if the aerial cable is near or touching the HDMI cable, this alone can cause loss of channels. I've rearranged my cables, retuned and hey presto, I now have a full compliment of channels.
