Dave that's very interesting, thanks, didn't know that about masthead amps. It was installed because originally the aerial fed 6 different points, and this was way before the analogue signal was switched off.
With the old aerial and no amp the signal was very poor, after the new one was installed it was much better - but that was all before the analogue signal was switched off.
I wonder would killing the power to the masthead amp bypass it, or would I have to get up there and do so manually?

Hi, we seem to be having similar problems to Steve here in Brighton BN1 5 area.
ITV and the other channels which seem to be on the other mux'es are fine, but BBC1 & 2 are all but unwatchable most of the time.
Checking the DVB signal level, quality is very low although strength is high as we have a high gain antenna and mast head amp
At first I thought it was out of alignment although we're practically on top of the mast and as I said, ITV etc are fine.
Is there anything I can do to sort it out or am I stuck with ITV? ;-)
