Iz Tolley: Subtitles are provided by the broadcasters, not by Freesat. If a channel is broadcasting subtitles on Freeview and Sky then they just need to be broadcast in a different format (DVB subtitles rather than Teletext subtitles used by Sky boxes) to be available on Freesat receivers.

Christine Barton: Do you mean the BBC red button text? There haven't been any teletext services broadcast in the UK since digital switchover back in 2012.

Prof M.: BBC Four HD and BBC News HD are still being broadcast on COM7 (UHF channel 55) which has not been switched off/retired. COM7's licence is currently due to expire on 30th June 2022, however nothing has been announced regarding what will happen to any of the channels currently on on COM7.

A Bridge: If you're receiving the Marlborough transmitter, it's a lite transmitter which broadcasts only the PSB multiplexes and not the rest of the commercial channels as it only serves around 4,300 homes which is too small an audience for the commercial broadcasters to be interested in paying for the equipment and running costs of broadcastings all of their channels.

Chissey boy: The Mendip and Oxford transmitters are in almost opposite directions from your postcode and Oxford being nearer is predicted to provide a stronger signal on the higher powered PSB multiplexes. Have you checked which direction your aerial is pointing? If the aerial is actually pointing towards Oxford you may find turning it around towards Mendip significantly improves your signal strength.

Prof. M.: COM7 has not yet closed, both BBC Four HD and BBC News HD are still broadcasting. Please see mine and Chris's answers to your previous comment above!

Peter Wingrove: You are only predicted to get good reception of the PSB multiplexes from the temporary mast at Bilsdale Quarry, this may improve when the second temporary mast enters services from the main Bilsdale site, however there are no predictions available. The only other transmitter predicted to be available is Masham which only broadcasts the PSB multiplexes.

Beverley: QVC +1 is not broadcast on Freeview and I can't see that it exists on satellite either.
