Switchover starts in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

BBC2 Ch. 28 analogue went off at 12.25 when I was watching The Tudors and 'Coast' appeared without any break in transmission. Checked BBC1 analogue Ch.22 and that had gone.
Freeview channels on Ch 22 up-and-running when I did a retune at 2.45a.m.

By the way when I think of the Belmont transmitter site, I always go back to the mid-1970's when (after Anglia handed-over the transmitter to YTV) Anglia still provided a local weather forecast for the Belmont service area and the weather man, Michael Hunt always concluded his forecast with the words 'Good-bye to Belmont'.

Happy days!

East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire switchover "ends" | Switchovers

Belmont, Mux BBCA (Ch 22), D3&4 (Ch 25), BBCB (Ch.28, HD) and SDN (Ch.30) have all been on-air since just before 2 a.m.

Not sure about Arquiva A (Ch.53) and B (Ch.60) as I'm using a Group A aerial.

jb38: Thanks for your info. The lack of Arquiva A and B muxes from Belmont doesn't worry me, because I already receive their equivalents on channels 42 and 45 (with a Group C/D aerial) from Waltham.
Hopefully, things will stay the same when they move to channels 56 and 57 on Aug. 31.

Thanks again.

Waltham (Leicestershire, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Does anyone know how many English HD versions of ITV1 there are? Possibly two ?
I'm asking this just out of curiosity because Belmont transmits Granada HD and Waltham is transmitting
London HD.
The Freeview transmission details at the top of this page show Waltham to be carrying Central West HD (which probably doesn't exist!).

Thanks everyone.

Mike Dimmick: Thanks for the info.

Perhaps Central (West) ITV HD will be broadcast after DSO at Sutton Coldfield;
Waltham is at present definitely transmitting London ITV HD on Freeview (the local news being London Tonight).

Thank you once again.

Pick tv+1 is no longer broadcasting on Freeview, so you're not missing anything!

Jim J (NG14 6**):

tracyt & jb38

tracyt, I understand what you mean.
I receive Challenge from Waltham (on RF channel 56) and can view all of the scheduled programmes that are broadcast.

I also receive Challenge from Belmont (RF channel 30) but there are NO programmes only a continuous caption (no sound) with the Challenge logo and the words 'Back tomorrow. Programmes start at 6.30am.' (plus additional advice to rescan your STB or iDTV if the Challenge tv channel has recently been lost).
Signal quality and strength from both Belmont and Waltham are 10/10 and reception is perfect.
Challenge from Waltham is automatically stored on my iDTV as channel 46 and from Belmont as channel 795, which I find strange because I would have expected Belmont to be on 46 (having been scanned first at the time of the last retune).

The question therefore arises: Why is the caption chart being transmitted from some transmitters, and the scheduled programmes from others?
Can anyone throw some light on this please?

It's okay everyone, yes I do of course realise that Challenge from Belmont is now broadcast on RF channel 53 and not 30 as before!

Thanks Briantist,
Out of interest I've just completed a manual tune for mux. Com 7 (Ch 33) (Belmont). I'm receiving 100% both signal strength and quality. Al-Jazeera is broadcasting its programming;
the BBC is showing the 'Coming soon' caption on 74, 105,106 &107 but nothing on 73 (CBBC HD).
Zilch from Waltham on 31
