Freeview reception at BB2 4NG

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Roy Milner:

At your location you should be getting good reception from either Sandy Heath (at 62km distance) or Tacolnston (at 58km distance). Both now require the use of a wideband aerial mopunted for horizontal polarisation. See Coverage Checker - Detailed View

Satellite would be another option but do not use a smaller type dish as that will give just as many reception problems (I use a 65cm dish in Wiltshire and never have an problems due to rain or snow absorption of the signals). Also make sure that a good quality Low Noise Block is fitted, preferably with at least 4 outputs for future flexibility. Most of the Freeview channels are available on Freesat, but not all.

I have lost all bbc channels from free view. Aerial points at Heathfield mast although I have never managed to make sense of the transmitted channels and those the TV says it's receiving . Anyway no HD or BBC anymore it seems . Last night the HD went and today the rest but there nothing online to suggest there is any mast work. Anyone any ideas?

Please provide a full post code so that we can look at the predicted reception at your location. Heathfield transmitter covers a large area and thousands of homes.

I am having pixelisation issues on talking pictures TV since the recent refund in October . I am using a digital aerial an set top box. I have retuned the box a couple of times and checked the transmitter service but nothing seems to change the situation . Do you have any solutions that I could try as I have also checked all the connections are secured thanks

David Afleck:

Firstly there is no such thing as a 'digital' aerial. All UHF aerials of a wideband type will receive all the available signals, the type of modulation does not affect how it is received.

Secondly, please check all your aerial cables and connections, if there are coaxial plugs/sockets please unplug those and the refit.

Thirdly, check the signal strengths of the affected multiplexes, You want to have between 60% and 85% ideally, too much or too little gives bad results.

That's because the owner of this site has not updated the link handling as he is unavailable at this time. No one else can do that.
