Freeview reception at NN13 5HE

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Roger Shrimpton: No, this isn't likely as the Commercial broadcasters don't wish to pay for it because they don't see it as worth their while. See here for an explanation:

Londonderry (Northern Ireland) transmitter | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

The only question to ask is are you in a location that could receive the full service from a transmitter like Caradon Hill?

As a sample, I took a postcode near to the Community College and the prediction from Digital UK for reception from Caradon Hill was excellent.

I believe that if you have BT Infinity then there is a way that you can watch the BT Sport channels via it, although you will have to ask BT.

We lost signal from Sunday evening to Tuesday. What could be the cause? The signal loss was through all tvs to differing degrees. The external aerial is only about 4 yrs old and from a visual inspection from the ground appears ok. The same thing happened about 5-6 wks ago and the siganl loss lasted for about 4 days that time. It is very frustarting! Thanks in advance for any help.

Vicky: If all your TV's come off the same aerial, then its likely to be your system at fault. None of your possible transmitters are offline (although Crystal Palace is having engineering work).

Although the aerial looks fine, it could be a splitter, loose cable, etc. For instance, if you get a lot of rain suddenly, a loose or damaged cable could have a problem with water, then dry out over a number of days and be OK again, until the next rain comes..

If you can follow the cable to the source of the problem, great, but I suspect this needs a professional.

Any advice as to why our two Sony Freeview TVs, both fed by the same external aerial, show different BBC1 local news programmes? We get West Midlands on one TV & East Midlands on the other. Living in Nottingham we obviously want East Midlands on both.

Terry: Because at least one is tuned to "another" transmitter, perhaps one to which the aerial doesn't face. The solution, therefore, is to have the one showing West Midlands tuned to the correct transmitter which will also reduce the possility of poor reception caused by the signal received being off-beam of the aerial's direction.

Which transmitter is your aerial pointing to - Nottingham (Kimberley) or Waltham?

In Northampton and we now only have 20 TV channels from Sandy Heath before last weekend 90+ TV channels . . . if I had to guess I would say Sandy Heath is on reduced power due to the engineering work, does anybody know where you can get more detailed info from about whats happening at Sandy Heath?, is anybody else in the area having the same troubles?

Roger: Your previous post had someone also on Sandy Heath reply to it, and they said there was no problems. I would suggest if you want to check if there's any problems in your area, that you ask any neighbours who are also on Freeview.

When you say you only have 20 channels, do you mean the other 70 are not in the guide, or they are just do they just break up if you select the channel?
