Freeview reception at BT15 4GF

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Diane Skelly: As you are in an apartment block then that begs the question is it a communal aerial system you are using? If yes then enquiries should be made with neighbours to see whether they have the same issue - ensuring that it is Freeview they are referring to and not a satellite platform like Freesat or Sky. If others have the same issue then the problem is within the aerial system, therefore the party responsible needs to be made aware so they can organise repair.

Sky in more than one room is only possible if your Sky box has an RF output via a coaxial socket *and* your TV sets in other rooms have a UHF analogue tuner. The RF signal coming out of the Sky box, if it does have an RF Out socket, is in analogue format only with mono sound. You can carefully distribute that to one or more other TV sets that have analogue tuners but make sure you use good quality cable, good active splitter(s) and properly made coaxial plug connections. You can normally find out which analogue channel the RF output is set to from the Installation menu options on the Sky box.

Roger Parker: Select 8-day EPG - this is what's broadcast by Freeview.

Evidently the 14-day EPG service was made available by Top Up TV and as it's now ceased the extended EPG is no longer available.

RICHARD BROWN: You should have all PSB services, which is more than 9!

See here:

DTG :: DTT Services by Multiplex

If you have a standard definition receiver then you will have PSB1 and PSB2. If it's HD as well then you will also have PSB3.

The other channels are the Commercial (COM) ones and they are only available from main transmitters and a select few smaller ones.

It's doubtful that you might receive all channels from Emley Moor due to being so far off line-of-sight. In such situations if you can then reception may not be perfect. Imperfections could be seasonal.

If you can't receive all channels terrestrially, then a satellite service such as Freesat may be the only way to increase your choice.

New way to watch Freeview (and more) is using a V@Box solution.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/g…CL59

It enables to view all the free channels (and some pay channels as well) - connected to the Freeview service, and all channles are transmitted through the WIFI or the home network.

Really nice piece of kit.
