Since the update on Wednesday my BBC channels freeze - have retuned the box numerous times to no avail. It's a Goodmans box, and the postcode area is AB25. All the other channels are fine. Does anyone have any ideas to help, please?

Hi @mikeb thanks for your reply. The BBC channels are the only ones I'm having problems with, and they were completely fine until Thursday, which seems like a huge co-incidence. I'm not sure how to go about finding a different transmitter, when I re-tune it finds all the channels fine. I did a webchat with Goodmans' help yesterday and they said to try a "hard reset" (taking all the wires and aerial out of the box for 30 minutes) which made no odds. We're off into town tomorrow so may take a trip to John Lewis to buy something else - what a nuisance! Thank you again for your response.

Hi @mikeb just an update - my partner did another scan just before we went out, and BBC1 was fine! We actually left the TV on while we were in town and came back to it still on and working as normal. He's convinced he fixed it, I wonder if whatever problem there was was updated overnight. Either way, I'm very pleased. I hope you get things sorted soon.

@mikeb I spoke too soon. We switched channel, then swapped back to BBC later tonight and it froze again! So annoying! If it's not resolved by next weekend it will be a new box. Meanwhile, iPlayer on the iPad.

@briantist we were one of the first areas to switch to digital (Aberdeen) and this is the first problem we've had, so I really think it must be something to do with the update and not the signal?

Hi there, are other people still having problems? I still have the BBC channels freezing. I have checked and the transmitter is Highlands and Islands, but we're in Aberdeen - I think our transmitter should be Durris. Any ideas how to hook up to the correct transmitter?

@Mike B I've tested the postcode and the transmitter is definitely Durris. This is an old TV - not even flat screen . The plan is to buy a new box at the weekend, is this likely to help? Any recs on what to get? I really don't want to spend too much as hadn't planned to spend anything!

@mikeb did you ever get a response from the BBC? I really do not want to spend £164! I managed to watch the whole of the Bakeoff on BBC1 yesterday without having to reset, but when it finished the box was stuck and I had to switch off at the mains to get the channel to change. :-( Thank you for all your help, it is much appreciated.

@mikeb what did your work recommend to the people who returned the Goodmans boxes? My colleague text me this morning to say he had found a spare box and will bring it in for me on Monday - I hope it's not a Goodmans one! Also hope the BBC get back to you soon, this is a complete farce.

@nightjar nothing to say except I feel your pain, it is so frustrating! It worries me that this forum is as high up my internet history as my usual beauty forum!

@mikeb I'm on the BARB panel so think I'll drop the local engineer an email on Monday - they might carry more weight in getting answers from the BBC than us mere mortals, especially if it's impacting the ratings. We usually watch the BBC news at 6 every day as standard plus breakfast telly, so that pattern change will be very noticeable from this household.
