Freeview reception at SN1 2JS

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

These icons show the potential locations for 5G-at-700MHz services that may interfere with Freeview reception. For actual mobile device reception prediction (at 800-960MHz and 1710-2170MHz) see these phone operator's mapping sites: Three O2 EE VM

I live in Teignmouth centre in a high private building, I am told I cannot install a satelite dish at the rear of the premises as dish wont find signal over top of high building, I cannot install a dish on the front of the building, because it is a listed building therefore I am seeking Freeview online which will give local programmes. I am happy to pay when I find the right provider. I have found your site and wish to give it a try.

In the last week or so I have a problem with BBC1 HD and BB2 HD - I'm watching through a Technisat set top box (freeview / DTT, not freesat) from the Sandy Heath transmitter. It used to be fine but for about a week now when I try these two channels I get it no problem for about 7 seconds, then the picture is lost. The sound and subtitles will continue but the picture just goes black. I've tried a full retune but it's no different. Other HD and SD channels are all fine, just those two BBC channels. I can make the picture come back by pressing 'exit' on the remote control, or by changing channels then it goes again. This page thinks my tv should come from Oxford but it doesn't. It comes from the East region, I can't get anything from the Oxford transmitter.

we bought a digital tv with freeview on it and know it worked as we tried it out at my sons house. We live on a widebeam boat and had someone put a freesat arial which was fixed up and we had both free sat and freeview programmes. Well last Christmas we tried to remove some of the channels we didn't want and somehow lost all the freeview channels. We still get the freesat ones but have tried to reset but not having much luck. Presumably the freeview channels are still in the tv somewhere. Can anyone help. We also have two remote controls the tv one is only used to put the tv on then the humax one does the channels. Which one should we be using to try to get our freeview channels back. Thanks

It sounds as if you have both a FreeSat Dish as well as a Freeview aerial, they are very different. It also sounds like you have a TV set plus a Humax box, but you don't give us any idea what models they are, so it is very hard for anyone contributing here to help. A location helps as well as that would suggest which transmitter for Freeview you might use.
Can you provide more information so we can try to help, please?

Michael Gilmartin: I'm not sure on the exact type (speak to an installer), but in terms of group it needs to be a group K or wideband. As for the HD channels, the aerial is just one part of it - the receiver (TV or box) needs to be Freeview HD (DVB-T2) and not just normal Freeview (DVB-T).

Michael Gilmartin: See:

Craigkelly Transmitter

Other retailers and models are available. A log periodic is the thing to go for.

The terrain plot shows she is 11.5 miles from the transmitter and that it is probably just obscurred by Corstorphine Hil:
