We were watching freeview earlier when we suddenly lost the signal. Tried the sky box and have no signal on that either. We live in a flat TA1 2LN so use a communal satellite dish and aerial. They look ok and the weather was ok when we lost the signal

Jan Knight: : Even although Sky and Freeview are two completely different systems the fact of you experiencing failures on both when connected into a communal dish / aerial system suggests that the problem is with that side of the equation and not in your flat.

I would check with a neighbour, as they might also being experiencing similar to yourself.

I have recently re-tuned my Toshiba Freeview HD tv to accept the new HDtv channels.BBC 3HD and others. But I have now lost my previous Freeview HD channels and have no HD service at all..Screen is black with"service not running" showing across the screen.Updated downstairs TV with no problems, including even more HD channels available.

I hope you don't mind this trivial question. Do you know of any newspaper or other TV guide which lists Freeview Ch61, True Entertainment? I haven't found one so far and it's a bit irritating not being able to plan viewing without having to scroll along that channels EPG.

As I said at the beginning, apologies for the triviality!

Hi. I'm thinking about buying a Humax digital receiver from the UK. My simple question is, would it be able to pick up the UK Freeview channels and what other equipment would I need.

Many thanks in advance,

Hi. I'm thinking about buying a Humax digital receiver from the UK and installing it in my parents house in Slovakia. My simple question is, would it be able to pick up the UK Freeview channels for them to watch and what other equipment would I need.

Many thanks in advance,

Dan Firstly it will be satellite not terrestrial (freeview) broadcasts that you might be able to receive. Secondly the main problem you will have is that satellite broadcasts to the UK & Ireland are now even more concentrated on these islands than before and so you will probably need a dish 2-3 metres in diameter. If you do a search online for Astra 28.2e footprints you will get the gist. If you can find a British expat in Slovakia forum you might find someone that has tried.

Dan: There is no way its going to get UK signals in Slovakia. However, according to Wiki, Slovakia does use DVB-T Television in Slovakia - Ask.com Encyclopedia

Personally, I'd send them the money instead - it will be the right voltage, and be the right tuner/language.
