julie: The Digital UK postcode checker shows good reception on all muxes from the Belmont transmitter both now and after switchover at the postcode given. I am not sure why MuxA/SDN is missing at present, unless C68 is being blocked by interference, possibly from the RF modulator of a VCR or Sky box. The aerial fitter is correct, you should not require an amplifier unless the signal is split between several TVs.On 17th August MuxSDN changes frequency to C30- (together with mode change and power increase) so should no longer present any reception problems.

dave: From the Rosehearty relay you should have all the BBC tv and radio channels as listed at the top of the page plus all the channels on Mux D3+4 (including ITV2, STV+1 and Channel 4+1). With a HD television fitted with a tuner which supports DVB-T2 or a Freeview HD box you would also receive the Freeview HD services. According to the Digital UK postcode checker you might be able to receive a full Freeview service direct from Rumster Forest. Reception is shown as variable with Mux ArqA finishing up as good in 2012.I would keep your Rosehearty aerial though, if you do try Rumster Forest, as the reception does go through some changes as switchover progresses in other areas.

Dave: The Rosehearty relay only transmits the three public service multiplexes. The commercial multiplex operators - which carry the other channels - don't want to spend the money on having equipment installed and maintained at all the small relay sites. They were quoted about three times as much as their current running costs, about £12m more, for all the relays.
You would likely need a new aerial for Rumster Forest, as the existing aerial is probably Group B, while Rumster Forest transmits in Group A and C/D (i.e. below and above the range that your existing aerial is designed to receive).
