The signal for the C42 channels on freeview are low signal quality. Though the signal strength is good. All the other channels are ok. My transmitter is Heathfield, any ideas?

Marc: Where about are you? Could it be interference from Hannington which also uses C42?

Ringmer, just east of lewes. I have got a booster attached. Might this affect it? As when I have retuned I have had to turn this off because I pick up a second transmitter with london channels broadcasting on it.

laurence penfold: On the assumption (as no post code given) that you receive Freeview from the Redruth transmitter then what you have mentioned indicates that two mux transmitters have not been picked up during your update, and although you could try carrying out another auto-tune and see if they return, you could on the other hand "manually" tune them in if your TV or box allows.

The two mux channels concerned being: 48 (CITV etc) and 51 (Film 4 etc) only two mentioned as CBBC is on the same mux transmitter as BBC1, and if BBC1 is OK then CBBC should also be.

Help!!

I've just returned from holiday & found loads of freeview channels are now not working.

I tried re-tuning (including deletion of all channels before re-tune) but still only have 20 DTV & 11 radio channels.

Checking on this site & the Beacon Hill transmitter site I've established that the channels which are working are mux's psb1 & psb2 but the ones that are not working are com4-6 (ch42, ch45 & ch51).

Again looking at possible fixes I tried manually adding these missing channels but there was no signal strength so wouldn't accept.

These channels were all working before I went on holiday (22/10/2013 - 29/10/2013) & are missing on all my TV's.

my postcode = ex8 2pu & checking the Beacon Hill site it says there are no issues reported.

Does anyone have any further suggestions please?

Pete B: As the difference between channels working and not can in real terms involve relatively small changes in signal strength, then in cases such as yours the quickest way to determine the cause of a problem is to make one or two enquiries with a neighbour for the purpose of finding out if they are being similarly affected, because dependant on the outcome this will either reveal a defect in your aerial system or alternatively indicate that the problem is outwith your control.
