Sound levels on HD
I have noticed for the last couple of weeks that the sound level on HD channels is lower {alot] than the sound level on the corresponding normal channel. Is this normal, or our set up?
If so, how to we alter the set up?

John: Which HD system are you using?
Freeview HD only supports standard stereo at the moment, and this should be the same level.
Freesat HD supports 5.1 "surround" sound. If you have "Dolby Digital" selected and don't have a 5.1 system, you will hear only part of the sound. If this is the case, switch the Freesat box to "stereo".

We are using a Humax HDR-Fox T2 500Gb Freeview+ HD Recorder.
This is on all the HD channels

John: Are you connecting the box to the TV using HDMI and then using the TV speakers, or are you using the SPDIF output to connect to an external amplifier?

Befor Christmas I purchased a Panasonic HD TV with inbuilt HD Freeview tuner. I realigned my aerial on Emley Moor to get the HD channels with excellent results. However the digital signal over the the last couple of weeks has deteriorated to the point that I was down to a total of 14 channels. Analogue still solid. Today, I gave up on Emley, realigned my aerial on Tapton and every thing is hunky dory again, except the HD of course.

By the way the audio on the HD channels has always been considerably lower than the same transmission on SD.

I am in Selby and use Emley Moor for Freeview HD and normally get a good signal. This evening reception of all HD has been intermittent. Has there been a transmitter problem?
