External aerial. Installed about 6 months ago.
Feeds into Labgear LDA102/S 2-Way VHF / UHF Aerial Amplifier 1 Input 2 Outputs.
Can't pick up anything today at 19:00 on com7 or com8. BBC 4HD etc.
When it was installed those channels were definitely there. I added the amplifier later.
Just been in the loft(sauna today) with a small TV and plugged the aerial directly into it and did a retune. Still couldn't get COM7 or COM8. Eerything else is booming at 100% signal and 100% quality.
Is there anything I can do to pull these in consistently or am I just not close enough to Tacolneston?

DJB: If you're getting 100% signal strength then you are likely overloading the tuner with too much signal. Try bypassing the amplifier and check what signal strength you get with the TV in its normal location.

I would put your post code into Coverage Checker - Detailed View

This will indicate the expected signal strength . If I interpreted your post code correctly then your nearest transmitter is SUDBURY .Almost due west which should give good strong signals without an amplifier . The snag is that this transmitter does not have com7 or com8. The nearest transmitter with COM7.8 is Tacolneston almost due north . which currently can be received on an amplified aerial on com7 .
On june the 6th Tacolneston will change com7 and com8 to UHF channels 55 and 56 respectively . 7 and 8 will then be on reduced power so unlikely to be receivable at your location. Perhaps freesat is your option if you really need to receive com 7 and 8. Freesat now has virtually all the same channels as freeview.

An update. When I put the aerial into the TV rather than the BT youview box(DTR4000 Ultra HD) I am able to pull these weaker channels in. Perhaps when they move to a new channel in two days time there might be enough for the youview box to pick them up.

DJB: You'll have to see what happens, although bare in mind that COM7 is due to reduce power to just under the level of COM8 from Tacolneston when it changes frequency on Wednesday
