Stuart: If it has a black cap then there is nothing to worry about, as black indicates wide band.

Not of course that at distance from the transmitter you would have much to worry about if it wasn't, as even although it would not strictly be technically correct, at close distances from main transmitters the proverbial coat hanger would usually be found to work.

Not of course that I would advocate using that sort of thing!!

Interesting to note here, but after DSO2 when Tacolneston goes on full power up to maximum 100kw on all multiplexes (BBCA mux after DSO1),parts of South East Lincolnshire which is already an overlapped area covered by both Belmont and Waltham main transmitters may find that Tacolneston could possibly become the third main transmitter in the above area that i mentioned, giving Freeview viewers either an extra transmiter,or a major headache that comes with it.Towns such as Spalding,Boston and maybe Skegness, etc, may possibly pick up Tacolneston transmissions as well.Watch this space !

Anyone know if Tacolneston is transmitting freeview HD at the moment....reason I ask is that we for the last few weeks we can pick up several f/v HD channels......if not then we must be picking them up from the recently DSO'd Sudbury TX .....which means from the back of the aerial !!!
Thanks

My post code is ip33 2hx,I have a digital freeview aerial on the roof serving 5 tv's but this morning 29/09/11 the only tv receiving all channels is the main set in the lounge, all the other tv's are not receiving any of the bbc channels they are just displaying 'no signal', although all non bbc channels are working normally. The main tv in the lounge has an aerial power unit next to it and there is another box in the loft which distributes the signal to the other tv's. Can you advise me please. My tel.no.is 01284 762464

david faulkner: I live in North Norfolk and my aerial points to Tacolneston, and I can all so pick up the four HD chanels. In my case I know for a fact there are coming from the Belmont tranmitter. Occasional the signal breaks up a little, but not often. I look froward to picking them up from Tacolneston.

Serious disruption on Talconeston Today.
Mux 1 is out, Also Mux 2.
But at least i have Mux C back after almost 2 weeks without it.

I suppose this disruption will continue till Nov 13th when they finally finish.
I do not understand why it is taking 3 months for the transition period.. ditch the damn anlogue signal and pump up the digital streams wattage out now!!
